Children's Grief Centers

Every child deserves the opportunity to grieve. Children often are thought to be too young to understand and cope with their grief. However, if given the proper support and understanding, children have a natural capacity to grieve and heal.

About the Lawrence E. Whelan BeginAgain Children's Grief Centers

Since the Daytona Beach Center opened in 1998, it has gained national recognition for its successful outreach efforts. Since then we have opened two additional locations to serve the needs of the community.  One is located in West Volusia and the other in Flagler County.  Both Centers offer the same quality services to the areas children and families. Children at all three locations benefit from the skills and dedication of master's level counselors who specialize in children's grief and a specially trained and supervised team of volunteers. For more information please call 386.258.5100 or 386.822.4852.

Hearts and Hooves

Through interaction with horses, the BeginAgain Children's Grief Centers use this one day camp to help children and teens who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The camp offers expression of grief through art and ground based horse activities. Campers will realize they are not alone in their grief and their feelings are normal. A healing family ritual is held at the end of the camp to remember loved ones. For more information please call 386.258.5100 or 386.822.4852.
